Spirit of the Sea Festival Weekend
As I write this I am bopping up and down in the passenger seat of Pet. He’s all decked out for the Spirit of the Sea Fest that we’re on our way to. Like at the Canada Day Celebration on Granville Island we’ll have a film workshop for kids (of all ages) and some educational displays on film formats, history, and even a Super8 loop for people to check out.
This time though, we’ve installed most of our furniture and appliances – with the notable exceptions of some cabinets, the fridge and toilet.
We hope that today we, along with our fabulous volunteers, will be able to connect with many people and get their takes on Canadian Identity as well inspire some joy and wonder at the magic of film in children who have probably never seen it before.
Come down and join us! Aside from the fun “work” we’ll be doing, there is live music, CLOWNS, games, a BEACH and a salmon bbq put on by the Semiahmoo First Nation.
Whatever your plans are for this long weekend, be safe.
