Fund-raiser Day 23
One of the things I’ve been thinking a lot about over the past couple of days is how excited I am to be able to involve different cultural groups in this project. The fundraiser, of course, has been largely targeted at west coast anglophones because that’s our home base (and you always start with the home base). As much as Alex and I would love to be able to communicate individually with a diverse spectrum of communities, it just hasn’t been feasible so far.
But not for long! We absolutely intend to seek contributions from the Québécois and other francophone regions as well as contributions and input from the First Nations and Aboriginal peoples. I heard a few days ago that somebody, an Aboriginal man, asked one of our friends about the project. “Will they be asking for our side of it?” he inquired. Our friend replied that we would, of course, but it concerned me that maybe we haven’t been clear enough about that.
In conclusion, expect to see a bunch of broken-French blog post from me in the next couple of weeks.
Until then, to the campaign! It’s an exciting week for us, and we’re really happy about all everyone is doing to spread the word. Keep it up guys, only a couple more weeks!
